Hey! Great piece of work! I'm in the middle of The Fellowship of the Rings, (amazing piece of writing). Your use of light and shadow is excellent. A good depiction of the scene.

I really like that, the shadowing looks great. I could see something like that printed in the original books, (the style would be more fitting for the Hobbit's era, still)

Mind my asking (never had the talent for drawing), was charcoal was used for this?

I agree this would look perfect as an illustration in the book :) (Smile) You have obviously spent a lot of time with the shading and it really looks very authentic to the style of the period of time, well done :D (Big Grin)

looks fantastic. love the balance of contrast its great. also wonderful positioning of the brightest areas in the center it really catches the viewers eye. great concept and very original style. what medium did you use for this? well very good work overall it looks awesome
